Warrenville, IL – May 16, 2011 – Illinois residents and small businesses can pay more on electricity than is necessary, when comparing ComEd’s current rate versus alternative power suppliers. EverBright was started by Nania Energy, Inc., an agency providing energy cost savings to its commercial clients. EverBright is setting out to offer electricity discounts to Illinois residents and small businesses while helping consumers understand how savings can be realized and service remains undisturbed. With this in mind, EverBright is embarking on an education-driven campaign to help inform Chicagoland consumers of their electricity choices. “Informed consumers make better, and more personally satisfying decisions,” said John Nania, president and CEO of Nania Energy and EverBright Energy. “EverBright Energy’s approach will provide transparency into the electricity switching process. Integrys’ Wholesale Electric Marketing Unit Sale |
You may have read the article above regarding the sale of Integrys’ wholesale electric marketing unit. I’d like to explain what this sale means to you, our customer. If you go to a bank for a mortgage, the mortgage is issued under the bank’s name. You are buying from their “retail” branch. Where the money for that mortgage happens to originate from is not your concern. It may be that they sold the mortgage to a third party or financed it themselves. Your are happy with the rate, service, terms, and the company, so who ultimately owns the mortgage is really of no consequence to you. The “retail” branch is the equivalent of Integrys’ retail services, with whom you are currently contracted with for your natural gas and/or electric.
If the bank had a back room where all the mortgages are bundled and
actively traded, where the mortgage products may be purchased for the
bank’s portfolio, where mortgage instruments and services may be sold
to other banks, etc., that bank would be considered to have a
“wholesale” mortgage business.
