Though Consumers Energy customers have reached their 10% cap and will have to wait for changes in legislature to take advantage of this option. Detroit Edison customers still have options. This territory has not reached its 10% cap and pricing in today’s market is very attractive.
The price of power in the Midwest dropped by 53% from July 2008 to July 2009 while over $600 million in rate hikes have been approved for Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison.
