Peoples Energy Services acquired Torco in 1999 and John became an exclusive independent sales agent. Today Nania Energy sells and services thru Integrys to over 4,000 natural gas clients and 2,000 electric clients, all in Illinois. John continues to service many of his clients directly while also developing a team of highly skilled associates, some that have been with him for over 7 years. John has created successful associations with a couple of large buying groups which he is very proud of: the Illinois Energy Consortium which serves the gas needs of over 1,100 schools and the Illinois Grain and Feed Association which services over 300 electric users primarily in farming. John also works with a host of other independent agents helping them bring value to their clients.
The Nania Energy team based in Naperville, Illinois has grown its Illinois Energy market presence under John’s guidance because of its ability to provide extraordinary value, service and creative products.

John Nania began his energy career at Torco Energy in 1990 selling heavy oils and natural gas. The business grew from $2m in annual sales to $58m in 1998. John was Executive Vice President at the time overseeing most of the major functions of the business. Innovations developed during this time (and now common practice) include offering long term fixed rates and “full service” so clients do not have to nominate their own gas or take on any more penalty risk.
